Anti-Bullying Training

ANTI-BULLYING AND INCLUSIVITY TRAINING -- REQUIRED

All new volunteers and players need to complete the anti-bullying training.

Dear Parents, Coaches, Volunteers and Players,

On Monday or Tuesday, October 2nd or 3rd, 2023 you should have received a letter from CAHA regarding the new “Anti-Bullying and Inclusivity Training.” This training was written into the CAHA Guidebook this year as a requirement before a player could be registered with a youth hockey club. However, because the Program was not complete at the time of registration, it was not imposed. Now that the Program is complete, CAHA is giving its members until October 31, 2023 to complete. Next season, it will be required before registration.

ACCOUNT CREATION WALKTHROUGH

Our club created a walkthrough with pictures to assist you in completing the registration process. This document includes the links to the two registration sites.

Please follow the directions carefully. It is easy to make a mistake registering your youth for their account.

TIP:

  • When you are doing the Adult Training, use Your name and USA Hockey# (NOT your child’s).
  • When you register your child for the Youth Training, use your Child’s name and USA Hockey# (NOT yours).
  • Every person must have a unique username. Do NOT use your email address for your child’s username.

Here are some answers to questions that have come up:

DO I REALLY HAVE TO DO THIS?

YES. All coaches, all volunteers, every player and at least one of their parents or guardians must each complete a separate training.

If your child and at least one parent does not complete this training by October 31, 2023, your child will be redlined by CAHA and removed from their Official Team Roster. Our Club has no control over this. That means your child will not be in Time to Score (CAHA’s computer program used during games). If they are not in Time to Score, the Official Referee cannot allow them to take the ice. The Coaches will not be able to go around the Officials. Because it takes several days for completion to be reported to the club DO NOT WAIT until the last minute to complete the training.

DO I HAVE TO DO THIS IF I ALREADY COMPLETED SAFESPORT TRAINING AND GOT A BACKGROUND SCREEN?

YES. This is a brand-new requirement in addition to SafeSport and the Background Screening.

DO I HAVE TO DO THIS IF MY PLAYER IS IN TRAVEL PREP OR HOUSE?

YES. CAHA Guidebook Rule 2.1 States: “all participants must complete CAHA’s Anti-Bullying and Inclusivity training prior to their participation as a Player, a Coach, or a Manager.” Please do not make your player’s Coaches be the enforcement agents.

DO I HAVE TO DO THIS IF MY PLAYER IS IN THE INTRO OR LITTLE SHARKS PROGRAM?

NOWe are confirming this with CAHA. In the event it is necessary for the trainings to be completed by players in the Intro and Little Sharks Programs, we will send further information.

HOW DO I CHECK MY STATUS?

CHECK YOUR CERTIFICATE: If the ADULT Certificate issued says YOUR name and YOUTH Certificate says your PLAYER’S name. You are all set.

Our Club Registrar does not have access to an updated database showing which of our members have completed the training. NorCal has these records. Twice a week a list of the members who have completed the training will be sent to our Club Registrar. At that time, that list will be distributed to the Team Managers and on to the parents. If you completed the program, have the certificates, and are concerned that there may be a problem, please wait a few days before contacting your Team Manager or Registrar to check on your status. They won’t have any information until they receive it from NorCal.

DO I NEED TO SEND THE COMPLETION CERTIFICATE TO ANYONE?

NOThe record of your completion is sent to CAHA and NORCAL and recorded in their database.

DOES MY PLAYER NEED TO USE THEIR OWN EMAIL ADDRESS?

NO. The username does NOT HAVE to be an email address.

TECHNICAL SUPPORT

For technical problems visit https://support.respectgroupinc.com/, or email: helpdesk@respectgroupinc.com. Within the program you can click on the green “Helpdesk Support” button.

The helpdesk is available 7 days a week from 6 am to 10 pm MST and will have the quickest response. The Team Managers and our Club Registrar don’t have any more information or control of the program than you do.

Please remember, this is a brand-new program. Our Club got notice about it the same day you did. We are all learning together, and we have to do it fast. For questions about the substance of the training, members can reach out to the CAHA President, Tom Hancock at president@caha.com.

Thank you all for working together to get this done!
